Ruby Shih is a music educator and performer who has extensive teaching experience in piano, classical guitar, and music theory, spanning over two decades in both the United States and Taiwan. She specializes in early childhood music education, group piano class, and performance etiquette, guiding students of all ages to excel in recitals, competitions, and music exams such as the MTAC Certificate of Merit and ABRSM exams. Her students have participated successfully in numerous local and international competitions, including SYMF, Satori Summer Festival, and CAPMT Concerto Competition.

Ms. Shih received her Master of Arts degree in Music Education/minor in piano pedagogy from California State University, Fullerton, where her graduate project focused on “The Effects of the Orff Approach in Music Therapy for Children with ADD/ADHD.” She also received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Classical Guitar Performance/minor in Piano Performance from the National Taiwan University of Arts.

As an active performer, Ms. Shih has appeared in concerts and ensemble tours across Taiwan and California, including the Taipei Classical Guitar Ensemble, Fullerton Guitar Orchestra, Orange County Guitar Orchestra, and collaborations with renowned artists. Ms. Shih is an active board member (registered piano and guitar teacher) of the Music Teachers’ Association of California-Orange County Branch and National Guild of piano teachers. She is also a certified Orff-Schulwerk instructor, which is an early childhood education that emphasizes learning through play, movement, and improvisation rather than traditional theory. She has been invited as a guest lecturer, presenting “Orff Methodology for Children with Attention Deficit Disorder” at the California Music Educators Association (CMEA) Conference. She continues to actively teach, adjudicate, and perform, with a mission to inspire students through music and foster lifelong appreciation for the arts.
