Thanks for having me. So, we started 88 Keys about 12 years ago, and I\u2019m the founder and CEO. A little about me: I earned my Master\u2019s in Piano Performance from USC. I\u2019ve been involved in music for a long time\u2014teaching and helping kids since I was 16 years old. It\u2019s been a wonderful journey, and I truly enjoy sharing music with the community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Felicity:<\/strong> That\u2019s amazing! Teaching music sounds very rewarding. I have a couple of questions for you, especially for parents who might be considering lessons for their kids. Since we\u2019re talking during wintertime, which often includes school breaks, why do you think music lessons are beneficial for kids?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annie:<\/strong> There are so many benefits to music lessons for children! For one, they\u2019re fantastic for cognitive development. Learning music helps with memory, attention, and problem-solving skills. In fact, research shows that kids who study music often perform better in subjects like math and reading.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond academics, music helps with emotional intelligence. It provides kids with a way to express themselves and manage their emotions. It also teaches discipline\u2014learning an instrument takes practice, and that process builds focus and patience. Plus, mastering a song or performing on stage boosts their confidence. It\u2019s not just about music; it\u2019s about shaping well-rounded, confident individuals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Felicity:<\/strong> Those are great benefits!
