Stefanie was born in Hong Kong and began learning piano at the age of 3. She received her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Hong Kong Baptist University and graduated with a master’s degree in Music Education in Music Therapy from the University of Kansas. She obtained the Diploma of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in Piano Performance (Piano) and ATCL in Piano Performance from Trinity College London in 2014.

Stefanie is dedicated and passionate about early childhood music education. She is eager to bring music to every child’s life. She started working as a tutor in a playgroup center and teaching piano during her undergraduate years. In the meantime, she was also the director and conductor of the children’s and youth hand-chime choir of King Fook Church, Evangelical Free Church of China, Hong Kong. As a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Stefanie works for a non-profit organization in Pasadena that focuses on serving children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental disabilities and their families. She has also served children with various medical conditions at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hong Kong as a volunteer music tutor.

Stefanie is an advocate for music education for children of all capacities. In her recent work, she has conducted a study regarding adaptive piano lessons to support music therapists and piano teachers’ facilitation of adaptive piano lessons for children with special needs. She truly believes that all children deserve quality music education and a chance to experience the joy of making beautiful music in their lives.
