Joanna Baird

Joanna Baird been studying music since she was five years old, alternating between piano, voice, and guitar lessons throughout her life, although piano was always her first love.

She is currently attending Azusa Pacific University, pursuing her degree in Piano Performance, under the tutelage of Dr. Joel Clifft, Dr. Andrew Park, J. Michael O’Neal, and Bill Cantos. While pursuing her degree, Joanna actively performs and teaches. She has been a piano teacher since the age of 16 and loves seeing her students grow over the years. Throughout her childhood and teen years, she studied piano under Karen Ramirez and jazz musician/composer Cecil Ramirez, who both taught her to express her love for music through her playing.

At a young age, Joanna took every opportunity to play the piano. She began playing for a few worship services at the age of twelve. She became the regular pianist at the age of thirteen for Calvary Grace Church, in Orangevale, CA. When she was a senior in high school, she began teaching piano privately in her hometown of Roseville, CA, and continued building her studio until she moved out to southern California. Presently, she is the accompanist for the Lake Avenue Children’s Choir, where she gets to serve a wonderful group of young singers. Joanna also teaches kids through the Azusa Conservatory of Music.
