From combining each piece into a single PDF to providing proper proof of ownership, following the guidelines carefully will help you avoid delays or complications during the evaluation process.

CM 2025-2026 Sheet Music Upload Information

Submission Requirements

• One PDF Per Piece: You must combine all pages of a single repertoire piece into one PDF tile for upload.
• Proof of Ownership:
  • Printed Books: Include a scan of the front cover and any page displaying copyright intormation.
  • Digital Downloads: Include the proof of purchase, receipt, or authorized digital source.
• Memorization: A full PDF must be uploaded for every piece, regardless of whether the student has memorized the music.
• Measure Numbering: You must number the first measure of every line of music.
• Legibility: Ensure pages are in the correct order and no music is cut off or blurry.

Important Policies

• No-Photocopies: Scans must be made directly from the original published source.
  Photocopying a book and then scanning that copy is not permitted.
• Foreign Language Music: If the title or composer is not in English, the teacher must provide an English translation written directly on the music or on a separate sheet included in the PDF.
• Privacy & Data: Students should delete the scan from their personal devices once uploaded.
  MTAC will purge all PDFs from the platform after evaluations are finished.
• Teacher Responsibility: Neither the State Office nor the CM Council reviews these files; teachers are solely responsible for ensuring the media meets all requirements.

Exceptions

• Page Turns: Photocopies are only allowed to facilitate page turns it the original score is also present on the music stand.
• Out-of-Print Music: These require written permission from the publisher to be used.
